Not Teacher Planning Day

So, it is Teacher Planning Day for the public schools in our county and of course I got the never ending stream of questions like "Mom, do we get Teacher Planning Day off?" and "Don't you need a planning day?"
But, I wasn't going for it. ; )

Until they said "Hey, how about we make it Uncle Phil Planning Day?"
Now, that idea had some merit!
My hubby's brother arrives next week (he's a stroke patient and paralyzed on his left side) and that means we have lots to do to get a room ready for him to stay in for four months. We planned to do it Saturday but the weekend already looks like it will be a busy one, so I took them up on it and we all got to work.

BLESS THEIR HEARTS!

Half way into this day, a certain somebody who thought of "Uncle Phil Planning Day" confessed that they thought they would help move furniture and go to and from the attic and be done in two hours and then have the rest of the day off....
But it did not turn out that way.
It took us from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM!
We all forgot somehow, how very much work it is to take apart two whole rooms (Joy's and the family room) and put them back together by swapping furniture and packing up all the things that aren't necessary to have in either one of those rooms for the next four months and putting them in the attic. (which is already full)
WOW! -It was a lot of work!!!

I'm so thankful for their good attitudes! I was the one with the major melt down when it still looked like a bomb hit our house 7 hours into it...

Hubby will be VERY thankful when he gets home from work.

I'm exhausted but Andrew has offered to make dinner, which means fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches made with love, can't beat that! : )

I'm very thankful that Joy went along with giving up her room this time around which will make things easier for the whole family and so far she is happy with her new 'room' in the family room with the curtain for a wall.

We are 95% ready for Phil to arrive on Monday night. PTL! Glad we didn't wait until the last minute.

I'm pretty sure this is a Teacher Planning Day that we won't soon forget and I know what we won't be doing on the next one. ; )
