We are home and on the run!

I hope to do a post about the fun we had in St. Louis and the fun the rest of our family had at the beach soon. But life is in high gear right now.

VBS started the day after we got back from the trip. (oh my mercy!) : )
Tons of fun but busy...busy...busy!

Today our dear friends from TX (who are moving to CA) are coming for a week long visit and I've had the troops cleaning like crazy with me. We've been in a hurry to get it all done in time.
When one of them grabbed the vaccumm this morning WITHOUT being asked, I told him that
he is now "my favorite child!" LOL!!!!!!!
Totally kidding of course, but he was so thoughtful and I so thankful!!!

The kids' church band that Andrew is in, played for the very first time last night!
The band members are all about 10 yrs. old so they looked SO cute up on stage and they sounded awesome! I was so proud!
~I know that Andrew will always remember this. Imagine having the first time you ever played the guitar in public be for 400 kids and 154 adults at VBS. Ahhhhh! Pretty exciting!

I hope to have some fun pictures and posts up soon when life slows down a little... or at least feels like it does!

Happy Summer!

More from Nationals

The majority of our matches have come down to the last question....
Which means we've had lots of nail biters...
And I'm so tired. I accidentally introduced myself before a match as a "sub" meaning a quizzer instead of "assistant" as in coach! lol
Then I nearly walked into a glass revolving door....I think I need to go to bed.
We've done 17 matches and tomorrow we have two more.
We are tied for second place!!!!! (in the second divison)
I also don't think I ever need to eat at Krystals or White Castle for a LONG time. ; )

Edited to update: We came in 3rd.

Snap shots from the road trip to MO

I loved seeing lightening bugs in TN,

the corn fields in KY,

and prayed hard in the blinding rain in IL.

After two days on the road we made it to our destination in St. Louis.
The Arch looked amazing! Can't wait to go!
Before we could even step into our hotel, we were all put into groups to go into the city of St. Louis and do an outreach! Our group walked into the nearby neighborhood...
We partnered with the fire dept. here to give away smoke detectors and CO monitors. The teens and parents did the installing and asked people if they would like prayer.
It was really neat.
I found out that MO is every bit as humid as FL! Who knew?
A certain sweet JBQ director I know and love, and I were dying in the heat and had to take the opportunity more than once to run through someone's sprinkler!!! : )

Well, there's one computer and 500 teens and parents in this hotel. Gotta run. Forgive any spelling errors! : )

My other half

The other half of our family is headed on a trip of their own while Nathan and I are away!

I have never packed and shopped for two separate trips that were happening at the same time before...WOW!

A dear friend blessed us (them) with a week at a time share! Isn't that something?! We had been planning to something like this but some major car expenses made us cancel it.
And then our friend made us reschedule it, on him, because he's amazing and sweet like that.

The only time share place that they could find at that late date with two bedrooms happened to be in Titusville.

So, Titusville means that they will be:
~Playing at the beach
~Visiting the Kennedy Space Center
~Watching Endeavor's launch tonight (Lord willing!)
~And studying the book of Titus for family devotionals
because my hubby is cute and clever like that. : )

I know they'll have a wonderful time.
Because God is so incredible and gracious like that, isn't he?

In awe of Him,

On your Mark, get set, go....

Nathan and I are off to the Teen Bible Quiz national competition in St. Louis.
Its going to be quite the drive from FL! Wow!

On our free day, we are planning to go to the Arch and ride a riverboat on the Mississippi River. Whoo-hoo! You know I love anything I can make into a field trip. ; )

Life has been all about the book of Mark this year and we've enjoyed it. I love to hear Nathan quoting the words of Jesus. We've had some wonderful family discussions because of the opinions he's formed from his studies.

The road trip to MO, will be all about Mark
and I know the road trip back home will be all about 1 & 2 Corinthians.
(because those are next year's books)
I will bet these teens will have a chapter or two memorized before we even get home... Because they are one motivated bunch! They are a blessing!

Not only is God able...

He's faithful! (I love these verses)

"He will keep you strong to the end,
so that you will be blameless on the day or our Lord Jesus Christ.
God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
is faithful."

Hallelujah! : )

The suit saga

Two of our boys are not into dressing up but there's one who is dying to own a suit!!!
He's wanted one since he was little but he hasn't had a need to own one.
We talked about buying him a sport coat for an upcoming event he's going to (which isn't totally necessary) if he wanted to pay half...but he wasn't into that idea. ; )
The other day we were out buying a dress shirt and a tie for this event when he tried on a suit coat just for fun
and the look of elation on his face was SO cute!!!!!! I wish I had a picture of it.

And then he said:
"Look, Mom! Puff sleeves!" (referring to the shoulder pads) And gave me this pleading look.
I just burst out laughing. He is so funny!
~Let me tell you, it took all my will power not to give into to a cute guy quoting Anne of Green Gables to me. : )
You just have no idea!

So, we ended up getting just the dress shirt and the tie and leaving the store with him referring to me as "Mirilla." LOL
He's too cute.

God is able...

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling,
And to present you faultless
Before the presence of His glory
with exceeding joy,
To God our Savior,
Who alone is wise,
Be glory and majesty,
Dominion and power,
Both now and forever.
Amen." ~Jude 24, 25

AMEN! Thank you, Jesus!
