He is the best

Two weeks ago, Andrew was the best man in his friend's beutiful wedding.

Most beutiful vows ever!

I love their sheer joy!

His best man's speech was a huge hit.
And it truly was a gorgeous wedding! These pictures don't do it a bit of justice..

And on Friday, there is another wedding to attend.

And guess who is the best man again?

Yes, he's the best!

Wednesdays in the Word

I'm especially fond of Psalm 86 because the Lord often leads me to read it.
I love that you can read the same passage over and over again and always get something new out of it.

In verse seventeen, David asks God to "show me a sign for good" which has been my prayer many times over the years and some of those answers are jotted down in the margin of my Bible.

The whole verse says:
"Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me."

For the first time it hit me that instead of asking for a 'sign for good' from Him, we can BE the sign!
We can be a sign of His goodness!
Our lives can show that He truly has "helped and comforted us." That because of Him, we are still standing!

The Message paraphrases it like this:
"Make a show of how much you love me so the bullies who hate me will be slack-jawed, as you God, gently and powerfully put me back on my feet."
Amen! May we be the sign of His goodness and reflect that great love!

Winning the war with lemonade

I've lost a lot of battles with termites lately and I've learned that the natural way of dealing with them, which includes having your house treated with orange essentilal oil really doesn't work.
But this week, I WON the war! -With a tent and tear gas! LOL
As you can see I am completely over the natural route!

It literally felt like we were evacuating for a second time. So, five people and two dogs had to move out again, this time for 2 nights and 3 days to fumigate. Ugh!

We decided to take these 'lemons and make lemonade' though and Joy found us a reasonable hotel to which would let us bring our dog! And it was on the beach!
So, POOR US!
We had to go to the beach for 3 days! LOL

The hotel really was smack dab on the beach not the kind that say they are and then you arrive and can't see the water and find out it isn't even within walking distane. LOL
It was full of  'snowbirds' who brought their dogs and were enjoying our 80 degree Floridian February weather.
All except the girl in the room next to us who actually had a CHEETAH! I kid you not!
The young cheetah, whose name was Cheetah,
(that's original!)
looked truly miserable as Cheetah Girl tried very unsuccessfully to get it to walk on a leash, the poor thing! And so she ended up carrying Cheetah around while looking very fierce. (the girl, not the cheetah) LOL

Our dog, has leash issue too.
Unfortunately, she takes us for walks! ; )
And you can believe she had the time of her life on this trip!

We found out that she is afraid of waves, which was hilarious to watch. And we realized that she has never seen a real cow before, so she actually thought that this statue was real and she growled like crazy. It was THE funniest thing ever! (not the sharpest knife in the drawer but she's sweet!)

So, all and all this "fumi-vacation" turned out to be pretty fun!

By His riches

In the middle of a crazy season where the three of us were sharing my car to go to 4 jobs and school, God did some amazing things!

Andrew was given a car by some dear friends of ours!
It is as old as he is, but it works! What an amazing gift!

And then a few days later some wonderful people said they want to cover the cost to repair Joy's car! And I burst into tears on the spot and made it really awkward! LOL
But I couldn't help it! It was going to take her a very long time to save up for that repair!
How good is God?!💗🙌🏼

"And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:19
I love that this verse says it is by HIS riches that He supplies. His supply is unlimited and one of His names is Provision!
So grateful for that and the incredible people He has put in our lives. 💗

A bit of bravery

On most weekends, I try to do some kind of home maintenance project and try not to stress too much over the ones I can't do.
Yesterday, I plucked up my courage and conquered my fear of heights and climbed up to our roof to cut down some over grown branches!!!

The whole time I was climbing the ladder, this quote was going through my head! LOL

And it worked!

I climbed up there and sat on the roof and went to town cutting away the branches that had caused me so much stress when Hurricane Irma was on the way. Whew! And eventually, I even got up the nerve to STAND on the roof and cut even more branches!
And just when I was thinking I was so  brave,
my neighbor came over to the fence and told me that I should be cutting the branches closer to the edge of the roof! -The very edge. Ugh!

I felt like saying "Dude, Don't you realize I'm amazing just because I'm up here?!" LOL

Then he came back with a chainsaw that he wanted to loan me and told me what LIMB he thought I should cut!!!

As if!

I'm pretty sure that holding that heavy thing while balancing on the roof , would've resulted in some cut limbs but they might just have bee my own!!! So I declined. : )

I don't know whether to think he's crazy for offering
or  feel complimented that he thought I could possibly pull that off. LOL
