"Your greatest contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise." ~Andy Stanley

Great old movie

Andrew had to watch this movie for school and he and I LOVED it.  It is based on the book by Rudyard Kipling.

Usually he turns his nose up at "black and whites" : )
but he really liked this one and I think it will be a family favorite.

I love movies that bring out the importance of fatherhood.
The boy in this movie is very spoiled and tries to bribe a student and a teacher at school.
When the head master talks to his father about it, he tells him that if he "will only let the boy spend time with you, we will be very likely to have another splendid citizen on our hands." So sweet and true. -How many men in society need to hear that today!
The father humbly receives this advice and decides to spend more time with his son because "apparently boys can't raise themselves." -NO, they couldn't back then and they can't today.
His father doesn't end up being the one to help his son become a young man of character but someone else does and it is fun to watch.
Enjoy! : )
