Jesus in the O.T.

I haven't mentioned this here yet, but Hubby was asked to teach a Sunday School class at church and he's been doing it for the last 6 weeks or so. It is something that he has always wanted to do and it has been a  blessing in his life and hopefully in the lives all those attending.
They offered him the chance to teach the popular marriage class but we joked that he's too nerdy for that. ;) He really wanted to teach on the Old Testament.
This is the class title he came up with: "Jesus in the Old Testament:  How the Old Testament's covenants, characters and consequences pave the way for Jesus' restorative work in our lives."
The premise is Luke 24:27
"And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself."

He's writing his own material and he spends about 10 hours a week studying for the class.
The class is awesome! I love it! (that's my unbiased opinion) I'm always amazed by the scriptures from the New Testament that he ties into the Old Testament stories and the life applications he points out. He's an anointed and gifted teacher and when I read this quote this week, it reminded me of him:
"The man, the whole man, lies behind the sermon. Preaching is not the performance of an hour. It is the outflow of a life...The sermon is holy because the man is holy. The sermon is full of divine unction because the man is full of divine unction." ~E. M. Bounds
Amen!
