"Your greatest contribution to the Kingdom of God may not be something you do, but someone you raise." ~Andy Stanley

Wednesdays in the Word

Speaking of Compassion, these are the verses the Lord showed us when He put sponsorship on our hearts after the birth of our first baby.

"Blessed is he who considers the poor. The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive. And he will be blessed on the earth. You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of sickness. You will sustain him on his sickbed."
 Psalms 41:1-3

We believed those verses and prayed that as we supported a child on the other side of the world, that God would, according to these verses, be with our child in sickness and heal him when need be.
But God took that one step further, and that baby (who is now 21) was rarely ever very sick. He's only needed to see a doctor for illnesses a handful of times!

That doesn't, of course, count stitches! :-)
