Wednesdays in the Word

Jesus said "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."  Matt. 9:38

What hit me recently when read this verse, is that sometimes we laborers act like the harvest is ours!
Or we have way too many opinions about HOW the harvest comes in! And what it looks like when it does! Or we pray that it come to us.

Basically, the harvest is His and He said it is huge! And what it looks like is weary, scattered people.
"When He saw the multitudes He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd."

Instead of focusing on praying those sheep in, we are to be praying that more of us want to go to them! Its what He did.
He's the One who leaves the 99 to go after the 1.
In fact, He left Heaven for the harvest.
He died for the harvest.
And He's preparing a place for the harvest!

Let's pray for more laborers to send!
